Iepazīstieties - Dace Saule // Welcome, Dace!

ALMA ir kļuvusi par vēl vienu jaunu biedri bagātāka: mums ir pievienojusies Dace Saule. Dace dzīvo Dubuque pilsētā Aijovas pavastī un darbojas tekstilmākslas nozarē. Par sevi Dace stāsta:

Pabeidzu Valdemārpils vidusskolu, Rīgas tūrisma skolu, divarpus gadus Latvijas Lauksaimniecības Universitātē ekonomikas fakultāte. Kopš 2000. gada dzīvoju ASV, kur esmu ieguvusi bakalaura grādu inženierzinātnēs. Ar tekstilu esmu strādājusi jau kopš mazotnes, bet nopietni tam pievērsos 2020. gadā, kad sāku strādāt ar kažokādu un beidzot nokļuvu profesionāļa apmācībā. Tekstils mani interesē dažādās jopās - gan to radīt pašai - adīt, tamborēt, adīt ar mašīnu, gan to izmantot šujot apģērbu un aksesuārus. Patīk vērot to, kā ikdienišķi materiāli pārtop interesantā mākslas objektā.

We are excited to welcome a new member to our community: Dace Saule. Dace lives in Dubuque, Iowa, and works in the field of textile art. Here's how Dace introduces herself:

I graduated from Valdemārpils Secondary School and the Riga Tourism School, and I studied for two and a half years at the Faculty of Economics at the Latvia University of Agriculture. Since 2000, I have been living in the United States, where I earned a bachelor's degree in engineering.

I have worked with textiles since childhood, but I began pursuing them seriously in 2020, when I started working with fur and finally received professional training in the craft. I am interested in many aspects of textile arts—from creating textiles myself through knitting, crocheting, and machine knitting, to using them in the design and sewing of clothing and accessories. I enjoy seeing how everyday materials can be transformed into unique and engaging works of art.
